The Monastic Family, Fraternity of Jesus aspires to be a visible
sign witnessing to the fact that, even in today's world, if one places God, and
the Good News of the Gospel, at the centre of each activity, it is possible to
work in a humane and ethical way. The monastery can be seen as a 'laboratory'
creating humane projects and providing wholesome products inspired by the Gospel.
The
work of the Fraternity of Jesus supports the life of the community. The
inspiration for the work of the community is the Word of God - paying special
attention to the thirty years which the Son of God spent in Nazareth helping out
his ‘earthly father’, Joseph, in the carpentry workshop. When one considers the
life of the Holy Family of Nazareth one can nothing but value agricultural and
handcrafting manual work. In order to carry out the various projects of the
community, three co-operatives have been established (one concentrating in the
area of handcrafts, and two in the area of organic agriculture).
